Who handles the permits and inspections?
American Quality Roofing will include getting all necessary permits, scheduling inspections and standing by to meet inspectors for the inspections until the work is finaled. We can provide a copy of the finaled permit after it's signed off if you request it.
Does the price in the contract include all materials, labor and taxes?
Yes, the price in the contract includes everything. The only possible way you may receive a change order is if we discover your roof had more layers to remove than we knew about or if we find dry rot that needs to be replaced after we remove the old roof and inspect the wood. Rates for dry rot replacement and extra layer roof removal are listed in the contract. We try to include everything we can in the initial contract to avoid any change order, but sometimes we do get some surprises.
How long do new asphalt shingle roofs last?
New asphalt shingle roofs today last between 30 to 50 years depending on what shingle you choose and weather conditions. We can guide you in the expected shingle life of each shingle option.
Do you provide documents that my insurance may ask for after the roof is replaced or repaired.
Yes, we can provide any documents that your insurance is requesting including, but not limited to notice of completions, final invoices with breakdowns, warranty certificates, finaled permits etc.
What shingle manufacturer do you typically use and recommend?
We recommend using Certainteed shingles as they have the best reputation for quality and are the number one shingle used on the west coast. We can accommodate you if you want to use another brand such as Owens Corning or GAF etc., but we highly recommend Certainteed.
